Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year

Its been an eventful few months for us, so Ive fallen a bit behind again on our updates. We sold our house and moved to a new one just before Christmas so its been a bit hectic. Its a bit of a project house so I've been a bit overwhelmed, but I'll try to keep up from here on out. I'll post Christmas pictures separately, and also try to do updates on each of the girls soon too. Molly has changed SO much!! And she will be a year old in just one short month! I can hardly believe it!

We met up with Oma and Opa in Naples to spend Thanksgiving with Big Edie. It was a great trip! Molly did not travel so well on the way home though so needless to say, it may be our last trip by flight until she's a bit bigger! My favorite part of the trip - playing golf with my 92 year old grandmother, and of course she beat me!

Here's a few highlights of our trip-

And everywhere that Mary went the Lamb was sure to go...

A few pics from Halloween 2011. Mary had a little lamb! This was actually Edie's idea. She was so excited about it. Oma made her hat to match the costume too!

Molly - 6 (7) month update

Well, I meant to do a 6 month update for Molly, but here it is Oct 31 and she is already 7.5 months! It's been a busy fall for us as we've signed a contract on a new house, and put our current home up for sale so it's been quite hectic.

In her johnny jump up

A lot has changed since my last Molly update! At her 6 month check up she weighed in at about 15lbs and is in the 25th percentile. She's pretty much following the same growth pattern as Edie of being a little munchkin. She still spits up A LOT, but since she is gaining weight at a steady pace and is otherwise very healthy we are just waiting it out to resolve itself. Edie did that up until 9 months, so hopefully we will see the end of that soon.

Molly is "a very active baby" as classified by our pediatrician. She already desperately wants to keep up with Edie. She started crawling at 6 months, and almost immediately started pulling up in her crib to stand up on her knees. She loves for me to hold her so she can stand, and she even tries to take steps when she's standing. Yes, that's right - trying to walk at 7 months! She is going to give me a run for my money. She tries to talk, which of course just sounds like babble. She's VERY vocal, which can sometimes be a bit overwhelming, but also sometimes very cute!

Standing in the crib at 6 months!

She's fallen into a pretty good nap routine, but at night she has completely regressed which is really hard. She was sleeping 10-11 hours a night up until just about 6 months, and now she gets up 1-2 times a night. She generally will go back down fairly easily but its still somewhat exhausting. Hoping we outgrow that soon too.

We started solids at around 5 months, and so far she'll pretty much eat anything. Her favorite is Yo Baby yogurt though! She still won't take a bottle, despite many attempts. I've pretty much given up on that now. I've gotten her to take milk from a sippy cup a time or 2 so though it seems odd for a baby as small as her to be taking her milk from a sippy, we'll probably just proceed with the path of least resistance. And in typical Molly form, she prefers the big girl regular sippys (just cup w/ spout) not the non-spill ones!

She loves Bathtime! Though we've now graduated from the baby tub, to either just in the sink, or in the big tub with Edie.

Edie loves to "dress" Molly up. Also note how she is surrounded by all of Edie's stuff animals! They love playing together, and it always makes me smile to watch how sweet Edie is with Molly, and how much Molly adores Edie. Molly is also pretty fascinated with Sadie too.

Visit from Uncle George and Doriot

Uncle George came back for another visit, and this time he brought Doriot with him. It was very special for Molly to get to meet her Godmother, and we enjoyed getting to spend time with them! Edie was especially taken with Doriot, and just as I was adding pictures to this post she got all excited and shouted "Look, it's Dori! It's Dori!". So they'll have to come back soon for another visit!

The weather was so nice all weekend, and Doriot, Mary Jane, and I took the girls out to Foxhollow Farm to their fall festival. Edie got a pumpkin, and her favorite part was doing the haycastle with Doriot and the fishing booth!

The "Bat tattoo" - made me laugh she chose the bat for the face painting. She loves Bats!

The Flower Girl

We spent Labor Day weekend at the lovely Greenbrier resort in White Sulpher Springs, West Virginia to celebrate the wedding of Erin and Brent! It was absolutely gorgeous and we had such a great time. Erin is Edie's godmother, and so she included Edie as a flower girl in the wedding. Edie was THRILLED about this, and she loved having her very own "wedding dress". :)

The Greenbrier was such a beautiful place to visit. Oma and Opa came to spend the weekend with us and help out with the girls during the wedding, so they got to enjoy it with us. Edie had a great time at the pool, the playground, and just walking around the hotel and shops (toy store being her favorite). And her big treat was going on her first pony ride! She was a little skiddish at first, but then she really got the hang of it and loved it!

Molly just chillin' watching the pony ride!

The big day came, and she was SO incredibly excited about being a flower girl. Erin looked stunning and it was a beautiful ceremony, and an even more fabulous reception! I was so proud of Edie for following directions and walking down the aisle with her wreath on, and sitting quietly during the ceremony. I was a little skeptical that she might be too shy, but she loved it and was great!
She loved her flower wreath. We had some trouble getting it to stay on, and I wish we had gotten it pinned on a bit better, and her hair pulled back better out of her face but oh well!

Special thanks to Oma and Opa for coming and spending the weekend with us, and helping with the girls. Molly even actually took a bottle that night!!!

Someone else having fun at the reception :)

Having fun on the dance floor -She loved twirling in her wedding dress!

Congratulations Erin & Brent!!!
