The Ringling Brothers Circus came to town! John had Edie excited about this for weeks prior and they'd talk about what they were going to see there. She frequently would pretend play about handing out tickets to the circus. When you'd mention the circus, she'd say "They be tigers be there?" or "They be elephants be there?", etc. She couldn't wait for it!
On the day the circus train pulled in to town, I took Edie and Molly downtown to see the elephant parade from the train station down to the YUM center. After many delays, and spending over 2 hours in the car waiting, we finally saw them march through the streets of downtown Louisville!
And finally the day arrived and John and Poppy took her down to the new YUM Center to see the circus! She had a blast!
Her circus "stamp" that she was so proud of!
